Baseball Recap: St. Peter's Prep Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Peter's Prep won the last time they faced North Bergen and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Marauders blew past the Bruins 16-5. The Marauders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Anthony Weimmer looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on David Tallarida, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Chi, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The victory was the fourth in a row for St. Peter's Prep, bringing their record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for North Bergen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Peter's Prep will host Christian Brothers Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Bergen, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Hudson Catholic at 4:30 p.m.
