Basketball Recap: West Harrison Skates Past Picayune with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Harrison). They blew past the Picayune Maroon Tide, posting a 66-31 victory. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Several Maroon Tide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laikyn Moore, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

West Harrison's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points over those games. As for Picayune, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

West Harrison has already played their next game (against Greene County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Picayune, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-50 loss against Oak Grove on the 29th.
