West Shore recap October 8, 2013
Avon was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Elyria Catholic. The Eagles came in at 23 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in West Shore this week, Avon beat the Panthers 38-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the Mike Elder's team.
Midview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Middies feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cody Callaway has thrown for 1,541 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Logan Bolin has 37 catches for 688 yards. Callaway also leads the league in rushing with 394 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when North Ridgeville takes on the Eagles. As it stands, the Rangers are in fourth, while Avon is in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when Midview and Bay face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Middies comes in having scored 150 this season, while the Rockets have scored 32. Midview scored 30 points last week as it beat North Ridgeville.
Rocky River was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in West Shore. Earlier in the week, the Pirates triumphed over Lakewood 49-35.
