James Wood's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josie Russell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Brooklynn Medina, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Medina is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Nayah Edwards was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Millbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Kettle Run on Friday, taking the game 55-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Millbrook.
It was another big night for Jada Arrington, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentina Burrill, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
James Wood's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Millbrook, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Wednesday's game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Russell and Jaliah Jackson. Russell has been dynamite this season: she has averaged 13.2 points, 3 blocks, and 2.2 steals. For her part, Jackson has averaged 16.1 points, 3.4 blocks, and 3.6 steals.
James Wood took a serious blow against Millbrook when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
