In what's become a running theme this season, the Dighton Hornets gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-33 margin over Wichita County. The win was nothing new for Dighton as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Carson Shimer, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 23 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cramer, who scored 21 points along with seven steals.
Wichita County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Colton Harbin, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Leonardo Alvarado, who scored eight points.
Dighton pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wichita County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
Dighton will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Plains/Healy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Plains/Healy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Wichita County, they will head out on the road to challenge Sublette at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wichita County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
