Lewis County and Summertown are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lewis County came out on top against Loretto on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run seventh inning. The Panthers walked away with a 10-6 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Fletch Kelsey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Lewis County is undefeated when Kelsey posts two or more runs, but 8-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brycen McDonald, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewis County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loretto only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, Summertown won against Wayne County on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on Battle Creek with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Keegan McCafferty tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cason Blackwood was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Kane Konig was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Summertown has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis County, they pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
