On Friday, The Camelback Spartans''s game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past South Mountain with a 27-21 win. Camelback has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Murray Crump was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 194 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Rocco Mortensen, who threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
South Mountain's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daquawn Morton, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Baqi Taylor, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Camelback's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for South Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Camelback does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Mountain is also done with their season.
