The Harriman Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 37-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakdale. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Harriman of the 57-51 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Harriman lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Peyton Graham, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Rose, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Harriman has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Oakdale, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harriman won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Coalfield at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Harriman is on a four-game streak of home losses, Coalfield a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Oakdale will take on Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Oakdale is ranked 250th, while Wartburg Central is ranked 230th).
