Basketball Recap: Lake City's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lake City had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over the East Clarendon Wolverines. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Lake City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blayne Edwards led the charge by putting up 14 points and six rebounds. Kenjae Burgess was another key player, posting 14 points.

Lake City pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for East Clarendon, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake City will take on Kingstree in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Clarendon, they will host Williamsburg Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
