Bayside hadn't done well against Viera recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bears walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Hawks. The win was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Viera's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demi Reck, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points along with six assists and six boards. Reck has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Laali Franco was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Bayside's record now sits at 9-2. As for Viera, they moved to 8-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Bayside will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tampa Catholic at 1:40 p.m. on January 2, 2026. Viera and Santaluces will round out the year against one another at 6:25 p.m. on Saturday.
