The Jemison Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 41-14 defeat at the hands of Beauregard. Jemison was down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Jemison's loss came despite strong showings from Kintre Jackson and Luke Gann. Jackson picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Gann threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes.
Beauregard was led to victory by Jacori Tarver and Tae Foreman. Tarver rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Foreman rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Jemison's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.6 points per game. As for Beauregard, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Jemison will head out on the road to face off against Elmore County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elmore County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jemison in Alabama (Elmore County is ranked 105th, while Jemison is ranked 314th). As for Beauregard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
