Softball Game Preview: Ragsdale Tigers vs. Trinity Bulldogs

Ragsdale and Trinity are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Ragsdale Tigers are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Trinity Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Ragsdale is headed out to face Trinity after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Ragsdale put the hurt on R.J. Reynolds with a sharp 29-1 victory on Tuesday. The Tigers have beaten the Demons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Demons has come to flipping the script.

Gracie Jet Cuthrell made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Cuthrell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Hattie Hitchcock was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Gray, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

Ragsdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .842. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as R.J. Reynolds only posted an OBP of .308.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Trinity blew past Williams 21-7.

Ragsdale beat Trinity 17-14 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Does Ragsdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trinity turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
