Malaki Cary's Big Game Leads Houston County over Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central
Starting off the list is Houston County's Malaki Cary, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Cary rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. His longest reception was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Cary it was a similar story. Cary rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries the last time he and the Tigers duked it out back in September of 2023.

Mckenzie Gets a Boost from Surber in 56-0 Victory
Tate Surber was instrumental in extending McKenzie's winning streak to seven on Friday. Surber was dynamite, throwing for 143 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 passes, while also rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
McKenzie's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Surber and McKenzie will square off against Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Houston County Wins Fifth-Straight Thanks to Preston Mitchell
Preston Mitchell's big game helped extend Houston County's winning streak to five on Friday. Mitchell was unstoppable, rushing for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 133 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central's probably not too fond of Mitchell given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Mitchell saw the Tigers), he rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry.

Jesse Ross Puts an End to Mcewen's Losing Streak on Friday
McEwen's three-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Jesse Ross. Ross did his part (and then some), rushing for 40 yards for the 'W'.
The victory got McEwen back to even at 3-3. Ross and McEwen will be playing at home against Waverly Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
