Basketball Recap: Caynen Abittan Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Adelson

There's no place like home for Lake Mead Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Adelson on Thursday, sneaking past 57-55. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Mead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caynen Abittan, who posted 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight boards gave Abittan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kwadwo Baryeh, who had five points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Lake Mead Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lake Mead Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Adelson, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Lake Mead Christian Academy has already played their next game (against GV Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Adelson will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Needles at 6:00 p.m. Needles knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 contests -- so hopefully Adelson likes a good challenge.
