It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Piqua Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Greenville by a score of 47-40. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Piqua as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Greenville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drew Hamilton, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Chace Drew, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Piqua's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-16. As for Greenville, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piqua will challenge Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to square off against Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Sidney is facing Greenville at the right time seeing as Greenville is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
