After two games on the road, Marlow is heading back home. They will take on The Plainview Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Marlow and Sulphur were almost perfectly matched up, but Marlow suffered an agonizing 14-13 defeat.
Meanwhile, Plainview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Heritage Hall at home and fell 57-28. While losing is never fun, Plainview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Heritage Hall is ranked tenth).
Plainview might have lost, but man, BLAKE STEWART was a machine: he rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. STEWART really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Marlow's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Plainview, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Marlow against Plainview when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 40-7 win. Will Marlow repeat their success, or does Plainview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
