Cave Springs scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Gans, 40-30. At the time, the Grizzlies was ranked 15th in the state, while Cave Springs was 58th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Gans, who took down 15th ranked Gans, 40-30.
Davenport's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Miller threw for 122 and two touchdowns and Kevin Thomas had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Thomas chipped in 221 yards. KC Funk helped Davenport's passing attack out by catching five balls for 39 yards.
Davenport's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Miller has thrown for 998 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Thomas has 27 catches for 483 yards. Miller also leads the league in rushing with 504 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Wetumka and Dewar. The Chieftains comes into the matchup ranked seventh in the state, while the Dragons ranks fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when Bowlegs and the Bulldogs face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bison comes in having scored 112 this season, while Davenport has scored 210. Bowlegs scored 60 points last week as it bested Strother.
Wetumka extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Porum, 56-20. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
