Baseball Recap: Lutcher Has No Trouble Against Assumption

While Lutcher put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Assumption. The Lutcher Bulldogs were the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over the Assumption Mustangs. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Lutcher's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Assumption, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.

Lutcher will challenge Vandebilt Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vandebilt Catholic will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Lutcher surely won't give up without a fight. As for Assumption, they will face off against Morgan City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Assumption has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
