On Monday, Illini West got the win against Seymour by a conclusive 16-3. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jaydyn Combites looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Carlisle, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Nick Johnson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Illini West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seymour only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, Quincy lost 11-4 to Galesburg on Monday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Quincy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Wells, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Illini West's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Quincy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Illini West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Quincy struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
