EJ Ruffin Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Ayden - Grifton got the W thanks in part to EJ Ruffin playing the best football he has all season. Ruffin rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also made nine total tackles and defended a pass.

Ayden - Grifton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Ruffin and Ayden - Grifton will stay at home for another week and welcome SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Davis Posts Huge Game in 45-18 Victory

DJ Davis helped snap West Craven's four-game losing streak. Davis was unstoppable on Friday, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

This year, Davis has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 195.1 passing yards per game.

Keondrick Melton Turns in Another Game with at Least 104 Rushing Yards

Keondrick Melton continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his sixth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 104 rushing yards. He rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. Melton and Washington will square off against North Pitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Elijah Able's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Farmville Central over West Craven

Farmville Central had to settle for second on Friday, but Elijah Able sure wasn't going down easily. West Craven had no answer to Able as he rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Able was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.

Able is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Greene Central on Friday. Able rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown the last time he and the Rams duked it out back in October of 2023.

Malik Brown Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, West Craven got the W thanks in part to Malik Brown playing the best football he has all season. Brown rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

If history really does repeat itself, Brown might just drop another big game when he faces off against Greene Central on Friday. When Brown last faced the Rams back in October of 2023, he rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards.
