Loss or not, Clovis got some senior leadership from Kailyn Jefferson and Zarai Lewis. Jefferson scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Lewis. scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Jefferson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.
This is the second loss in a row for Clovis and nudges their season record down to 17-5. As for Hobbs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.
Clovis will head out on the road to take on Roswell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clovis is coming into the contest with seven straight defeats on the road, meaning Roswell will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Hobbs, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. Hobbs is coming into the contest with 22 straight victories at home, so Carlsbad is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
