The Bloomfield Bobcats lost against the St. Pius X Sartans back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Bloomfield was beaten by St. Pius X 76-49. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bloomfield in their matchups with St. Pius X: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Florez, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Florez scored a full 36.7% of Bloomfield's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sam Slivers was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Pius X, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Newcomb at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newcomb knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Bloomfield likes a good challenge. As for St. Pius X, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Alamos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Alamos is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
