Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Damaria Pitcher, who scored 26 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Pitcher has scored at least 25% of Jefferson's points. Another player making a difference was Laila Keys, who scored 8 points.
When it comes to explaining why East Bay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ranay Brown. Despite the final result, she scored 26 points. Brown scored a full 63.4% of East Bay's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for East Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
