The Latta Vikings lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 61-38 defeat at the hands of Hannah-Pamplico. Latta was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Latta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being J.P. Bley, who scored eight points. Kartrell Townsend was another key contributor, scoring two points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Tylin Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hannah-Pamplico, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Jenkins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shamar Eaddy, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Latta and nudges their season record down to 3-13. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Latta is on the road again on Friday and plays the Silver Foxes at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Lamar is ranked 282nd, while the Vikings are ranked 289th). As for Hannah-Pamplico, they will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
