Mother McAuley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers on Tuesday. The Mighty Macs haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Mother McAuley easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19.

Emily Zaper paced Mother McAuley's offense, picking up four kills. Zaper got some help from Peyton Heatherly and her 15 assists. Ava Calle controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mother McAuley will host Nazareth Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Joliet Catholic, they will be playing at home against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
