On Friday, the Pleasant Grove Vikings faced the Westlake Thunder in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pleasant Grove took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westlake. Pleasant Grove has not had much luck with Westlake recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Pleasant Grove still got an impressive performance from Amber Cook, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tabi Clark, who scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Austyn Feller, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Westlake. Another player making a difference was Chloe Jensen, who scored ten points.
Pleasant Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Lone Peak is ranked third, while Westlake is ranked ninth).
