Hale Ray and Haddam-Killingworth are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Noises will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hale Ray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.
Hale Ray's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Cromwell. The high-scoring effort was just what the Noises needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Lily Jahne made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Haddam-Killingworth strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against Westbrook. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Emma Giaccone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 15 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caley Napoletano, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kacey Coon, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Haddam-Killingworth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Hale Ray pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.8 runs this season. As for Haddam-Killingworth, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Hale Ray's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Noises have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Haddam-Killingworth, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hale Ray continue to outrun the ball?
Hale Ray came out on top in a nail-biter against Haddam-Killingworth in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Noises have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
