The Messmer Bishops's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to St. Francis 58-54. Messmer was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Francis apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Francis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keenan Green, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaron Johnson, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Messmer's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Messmer will take on St. John's Northwestern Military Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Francis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against SWCHA S at 7:15 p.m.
