Bangor can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against the Lawrence Tigers by a score of 15-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Vikings have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Carson Pullins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Bangor is 2-1 when Pullins posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jaret McCoy and Luke Remington did most of the damage at the plate: McCoy got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Remington went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Remington is becoming a predictor of Bangor's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Pullins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Bangor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence only posted a batting average of .062.
The victory got Bangor back to even at 11-11. As for Lawrence, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Bangor will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
