The Drew Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Crystal Springs Uplands with points to spare, taking the game 72-54. The victory was just what Drew needed coming off of a 54-32 defeat in their prior game.
Drew was led to victory by Charlie Leu and Teo Kimball-Directo. Leu dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Kimball-Directo went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 8 assists. The matchup was Kimball-Directo's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Despite the loss, Crystal Springs Uplands still got an impressive performance from Gianni Chung, who scored ten points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Gavin Diaz, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Drew's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Drew will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Stuart Hall at 5:30 p.m. on December 14th. Stuart Hall presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Drew in California (Stuart Hall is ranked 161st, while Drew is ranked 513th). As for Crystal Springs Uplands, they will head out on the road to face off against South San Francisco at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South San Francisco has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
