Nonnewaug is 9-0 against Housatonic-Wamogo since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Nonnewaug Chiefs will head out on the road to take on the Housatonic-Wamogo Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
After a string of four wins, Nonnewaug's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 67-54 to Wamogo Regional.
Meanwhile, Housatonic-Wamogo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Thomaston, falling 97-64. That's two games in a row now that Housatonic-Wamogo has lost by exactly 33 points.
Nonnewaug's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Housatonic-Wamogo, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Nonnewaug against Housatonic-Wamogo in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 97-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nonnewaug since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
