Clear Spring has not had much luck with Smithsburg recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Smithsburg found their leader in underclassman Jill Mallott, who scored 18 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Skyla Mastronardi, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Clear Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Smithsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clear Spring will take on Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Spring is coming into the game with three straight losses at home, meaning Mountain Ridge will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Smithsburg, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Governor Thomas Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Smithsburg is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.
