Baseball Recap: Warrior Run Wins Going Away Against Loyalsock Township

Warrior Run hadn't done well against Loyalsock Township recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Defenders were the clear victors by a 15-8 margin over the Lancers. The result was nothing new for the Defenders, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Griffen Harrington was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stone Allison, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Tillson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Warrior Run always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Warrior Run and bumps their season record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Loyalsock Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Coincidentally, Warrior Run and Loyalsock Township will both be playing Hughesville the next time they take the field. The Defenders will head out to face the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Lancers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
