Basketball Recap: Real Life Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Real Life Christian Academy suffered their closest loss since November 28, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hampden DuBose Academy Lions by a score of 64-61. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raptors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-53 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Real Life Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Inman Beardslee almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Beardslee a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Burden, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Real Life Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Real Life Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Hampden DuBose Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
