East Carteret was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Epiphany Falcons. One positive for the Mariners, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Epiphany's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kameron Bazile, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Ponton, who put up 16 points.
East Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Epiphany, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
