The Port Neches-Groves Indians lost against the Vidor Pirates back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Port Neches-Groves had to suffer through a rough 48-16 loss at the hands of Vidor. While losing is never fun, Port Neches-Groves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 768th, while Vidor is ranked 126th).
Vidor got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Powell out in front who scored 12 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Stephenson, who scored 10 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Port Neches-Groves and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Vidor, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Port Neches-Groves will square off against Buna at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Buna is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Vidor, they will take on Port Neches-Groves at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
