TEAM Englewood moved up to 469 from 503 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Chicago Public - Windy City. The Eagles were able to make the jump by beating South Shore 36-8.
Perspectives Charter/Perspectives Leadership extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Kenwood, 27-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Washington's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. TORY FENDERSON threw for 265 yards and DARIEL WHITEHEAD had 132 yards receiving. On the ground FENDERSON chipped in 74 yards. GABRIEL LOPEZ helped Washington's passing attack out by catching four balls for 102 yards.
Washington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. AARON CRUZ has thrown for 961 yards this season, while WHITEHEAD has 41 catches for 798 yards. FENDERSON leads the league in rushing with 313 yards.
A big matchup in Chicago Public - Windy City this week will be when the Patriots take on Hyde Park. As it stands, Washington is in third, while the Thunderbirds are in second.
Jimmy Smith's team took down Kelly 39-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. FENDERSON caught three passes for 31 yards in the win.
