Springville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Etowah Blue Devils a 9-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 23 contests by six runs or more this season.

Springville's win bumped their record up to 31-2-1. As for Etowah, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Looking ahead, Springville will challenge Gardendale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Etowah, they will take on Hokes Bluff at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
