The Seneca Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against McDonald County, falling 61-28. While losing is never fun, Seneca can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while McDonald County is ranked 84th).
McDonald County found their leader in underclassman Dakota O'brien, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points O'brien has scored all season. Anna Clarkson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Seneca's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for McDonald County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seneca will take on Nevada at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDonald County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Carthage at 5:30 p.m.
