Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four games, St. Francis finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to Providence Christian Academy. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
The win got Whitefield Academy back to even at 6-6. As for St. Francis, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-5.
St. Francis' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Whitefield Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game.
