After having lost a blowout in their previous game against ThunderRidge, the Rangeview Raiders were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 85-46 victory over Regis Groff. With that win, Rangeview brought their scoring average up to 65 points per game.
Leading Rangeview to victory were Royce Edwards and Archie Weatherspoon V. Edwards scored 19 points along with eight assists and five steals, while Weatherspoon V scored 22 points along with five assists and four steals. Yasin Sekue was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Regis Groff's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamal Bailly, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Miguel Morales who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Even though they lost, Regis Groff were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rangeview only pulled down 18 offensive rebounds.
The win got Rangeview back to even at 1-1. As for Regis Groff, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rangeview will square off against Smoky Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Smoky Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 291 points over their last four matchups. Regis Groff will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Jefferson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56 points per game.
