After flying high against the Ledford Panthers last Thursday, the Randleman Tigers came back down to earth. Randleman's rough 58-36 loss to Asheboro on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Randleman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Asheboro apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Randleman's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyshaun Goldston, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Goldston's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Price, who scored 10 points.
Randleman's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Asheboro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randleman will take on Northwest Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Guilford will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Asheboro, they will be playing at home against Uwharrie Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Uwharrie Charter is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
