Cape Hatteras has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Camden County Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Cape Hatteras focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Cape Hatteras suffered a tough 51-30 defeat at the hands of Manteo.
Cape Hatteras' defeat came about despite a quality game from Griffin Couch, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The match was Couch's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Camden County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Perquimans by a score of 62-49.
Camden County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Chopek, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Chopek scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Carrion, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Cape Hatteras' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Camden County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Cape Hatteras have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Camden County, though, as they've been averaging only 34.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Cape Hatteras was taken down by Camden County 72-43 in their previous meeting back in January of 2021.
