It was a good run, but the Lexington Minutemen unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 65-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plattsburg. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (58), Lexington still had to take the loss.
Michael "isaia" Howard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 19 rebounds for Plattsburg. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Howard has scored at least a third of Plattsburg's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Langton, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Lexington's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for Plattsburg, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lexington will stay at home for another game and welcome Richmond at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Plattsburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Lawson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 two weeks ago.
