Trego is 2-7 against Norton since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trego Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Norton Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. Trego will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Norton is ranked 34th).
Trego's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 56-24 loss at the hands of Russell. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Trego has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Trego had strong showings from Avery Ziegler, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Reece Smith, who scored six points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Norton strolled past Smith Center with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 36-20. 36 seems to be a good number for Norton as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Trego has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Norton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Trego ended up a good deal behind Norton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, losing 68-51. Thankfully for Trego, Cara Cox (who scored 16 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
