The Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Northwood 84-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bartlett Yancey has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bartlett Yancey lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew Sidney. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Sidney has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played.
Northwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beau Harvey, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Harvey posted eight or more assists. Drake Powell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Bartlett Yancey has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Northwood, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bartlett Yancey won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Jets at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Northwood, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hawks at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seaforth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
