The Muleshoe Mules lost against the Littlefield Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Muleshoe had to suffer through a rough 86-43 loss at the hands of Littlefield. While losing is never fun, Muleshoe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1180th, while Littlefield is ranked 208th).
Muleshoe lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adam Alarcon, who scored 18 points. Alarcon hasn't dropped below 16 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo Barron, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Muleshoe has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Littlefield, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 26-3.
Muleshoe will be playing at home against Lamesa at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Muleshoe is facing Lamesa at the right time seeing as Lamesa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Littlefield, they will head out on the road to take on Denver City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Littlefield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
