Poway and Del Norte are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Titans will face off against the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poway 2.2, Del Norte 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Poway's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over San Marcos. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Mya McGowan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Addie Queen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Paityn Vidano, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Poway hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Del Norte was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Rancho Bernardo 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won three in a row.
Like Poway, Del Norte also got a great game from a two-way player: Brooklyn Giaime. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Giaime was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gia Gerardi, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Lainey LLamas was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Poway is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, their record now sits at 13-8-1.
Del Norte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Poway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Del Norte, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Poway's hitters?
Poway came out on top in a nail-biter against Del Norte in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
