AA East recap October 1, 2013
Wahpeton added to the longest winning streak in AA East this week by beating Central Cass, 48-8. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Huskies.
Valley City was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to fourth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Hi-Liners triumphed over Maple Valley/Enderlin 62-28.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Shanley and Wahpeton. The Deacons comes into the matchup ranked eighth in the state, while Brian Dokken's team ranks third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Shanley takes on the Huskies. Rod Oksendahl's team has allowed 78 points this season, while Wahpeton has given up 58. The Deacons allowed 6 points last week as they defeated Kindred.
Lisbon made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,005 from 6,330. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-20 victory over Grafton/St. Thomas last week.
