For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Royal Palm Beach and Atlantic have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats were the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over the Atlantic Eagles. Considering the Wildcats have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabe Devore tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Santino Spidalieri, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Royal Palm Beach is undefeated when Spidalieri posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Jorge Olivencia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Royal Palm Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Royal Palm Beach back to even at 8-8. As for Atlantic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
